From Flaw Scanning to Soul Seeing

Flaw Scanning and the Absence of Fault Finding: From Flaw Scanning to Soul Seeing

Flaw scanning is characterized by a literal hunt for flaws in others. It consists of carefully studying another's emotions, vulnerabilities and flawsusually to cause a reaction or to gain an upper hand. It’s a way to blackmail emotionally, because if somebody has studied your vulnerabilitiesthey can point them out when feeling threatened. But if you are not insecure, but transparent instead, you’re fine either waynothing can be weaponized against you.

People might simply engage in this as a trauma-informed defense. If you, for instance, grew up in a hostile environment, you had to do this. You had to know about others’ flaws to prevent danger, or perhaps to even adopt it as a coping mechanism as it was done to you.

Unintentional Flaw Scanning

This is a form of flaw scanning based on ensuring safety, a need to know what’s happening; if we are in danger or not. Your subconscious protectors do this all the time to stay safeLife loves itself so much that it needs to protect Its Divine childrensometimes even through careful management.

If you have an intense need to flaw scan, something in the other person might be activating your protectors. Protectors are reactive models protecting your parts by either escapism (firefighters) or by chronic management (managers). They’re careful beings in the psyche. Especially in people who take their lives seriously, or have experienced hardship. Sometimes these protectors catch subtle cues and they can’t discern the origin of the signal, even if it’s only something related to the person who triggers the protectors. Or if it’s even related to a past life!

We carry parts from past lives, and these parts have protectors. These protectors can read subtle cues easily and get confused. Our history can be a long one, and instincts are strong. Protectors are forces ensuring safety for the soul in a body and are on some level even imprinted in the life force of a person.

Mean Spirited Flaw Scan

This form of flaw scanning is also based on fear, but more connected to shielding a fragile self-esteem than necessary protection. It’s often driven by envy, comparison, or simply somebody wanting to hurt you—for some people like to do that. They’re intentional and have chosen a life-negating path, or perhaps were forced onto one. It’s this feeling of being X-rayed, checked and watched. Some personality structures—often shaped by pain—do exist and seem to thrive on negativity from birth until death.

Sometimes people want, or actually need, somebody to take the falltheir fall—or even the fall of everybody. It’s called scapegoating. Flaw scanning is one way this form of energetic projection might enter your heart like a venomous snake.

Scapegoating is serious and can ruin lives. If we have ever been scapegoated, it’s like being under the ultimate flaw scan X-ray. It’s an energetic mechanism rooted in humans and survival—a kind of transmittal of problems onto something or someone perceived as a target.

Absence of Fault Finding

Absence of Fault Finding is a yogic value—highly essential for one who is tired of carrying karmic bags from life to life—since finding fault in others results in a karmic burden. This is because no individual owns another. Each one belongs to the Divine, and is a product of the Divine. Who are we to deny, or defy, prototypes of the Almighty? This reality expresses beings like the innumerable sparks from the Divine Fire, each being emerges as a spark of light, no two ever the same. Each individual is undeniably a unique conduit of Light born of the One Light.

Fault-finding judges the Source of beings—and It is not mocked, ever.

If you have ever been mad at someone and created a narrative about them, have you also noticed that you kind of make problems for yourself as well? You might not sleep well, you get intense, you get agitated and wish they were different. Is this wise? Sometimes, but not always.

It is indeed wise to be objective, and point out flaws that might get in the way of your life. But fault finding is different. It resembles more like scapegoating. It’s more snobbish and critical. Who are we to be critical towards others? We know that a plant doesn’t grow by forcing, but by love. Even modern science tells us that our attitudes can propel even the growth of plants.

So in a way, if we are finding fault, we are not providing a fertile soil in which those flaws could evaporate and be healed. Finding fault is invalidating, and does not give even the deadliest criminal any hope—it just paints them as ‘bad’. Then others start to see them as bad, and here we gothey can never become better. Fault finding ends up in the villainization of a human being. And depending on how many people jump on this bandwagon magnetically, it determines the strength of the opposition coming.

But did not Jesus face fault finding? He healed, loved and respected, but got stung like a meatball in a cocktail stick—for all to watch. But he did not find fault in the oppressors—they found fault in him. It didn’t destroy him, it redeemed him. One can, on some level, stay unbothered about the dynamics of this world.

One phenomenon that spiritual teachers, authors and healers—or anyone who does any type of serious work—often face is being met with unrealistic expectations, and when those are not met, others begin to find fault and project. I’d like to remind you that these are all people too, doing their best. It’s not wise to burden those who are already carrying responsibilities with petty concerns. But if those concerns are realistic, no-one should call them petty, ever.

Guides, teachers and so forth shouldn’t, however, consider correction as fault finding—nor use this as an excuse to do immoral things. For if fault finding were entirely disallowed, then technically a person could do wrong and get away with it. Correction is better, and any open-hearted person welcomes it, no matter how excellent they are.

Interestingly, some religious teachings have been twisted for the advantages of the ones in charge. This is why I mentioned about correction being important—absence of fault finding has sometimes been weaponized against those ‘lower in the hierarchy’. Some religious teachings are counterfeit advice, but true religion is not a doctrine imposed, but a flame alive in every cell of your being.

Villainization

Villainization occurs when others paint somebody as the villain in their minds which is followed by other difficult phenomena. It’s deeply hurtful, especially for one who isn’t a villain, but a servant of Life.

Reason Why This Might Occur

Being an unconventional persondiversity brings up fear.

I am an unconventional person in many ways and have often been misinterpreted and then villainized. Society tends to see those who don’t blend in as the misfits, and therefore they end up being villainized. You are not here to be like everyone elseyou are here to be you.

You are not here to walk a path that’s easy, but one that’s spiritually fruitful in the now that’s becoming. We are carving out our future now. Be you.

There are certain things that are marginalized in society, and if you happen to look, or be like that, you become the villain. This is not personal; it’s archetypal, and sometimes happens to those who carry light, too. The mind holds on to what it knows and rejects that which it isn’t yet familiar with. But you, you are beyond fear. The FLIP approach as outlined in my first post helps with this—cultivating Flexibility in changes, Left-mindedness when facing new ideas, Inclusivity when met with differences, and Progressivity towards a desired outcome.

Others Needing You to Take the Fall

This, in other words, is scapegoating as discussed previously. Scapegoating refers to the intentional or unintentional tendency to shift blame or project one’s own issues onto the scapegoat, who then acts as an emotional punching bag for those struggles and raw emotions. A scapegoat might be anyone perceived as suitable target—this is why it’s not wise to find fault, in other words, to flaw scan. The scapegoat is often somebody kind, vulnerable, naïve, open-hearted or simply predisposed in a way that makes them easier to project onto.

There are people who have serious ‘flaws’, but these come from their parts—subconscious reactive models ensuring safety. Is it then right to lock millions of them in prisons, put them in a box together and tell them nasty things? This sadly results in more magnetized chaos-momentum within these groups and causes more division in society.

Many prisons nowadays, however, have spiritual and religious services available, which is good. Many villainized inmates can find peace through, for once, being met as human beings. We do not act inaccordingly without reasons. This is because every being is innately good and is seeking the Highest Outcome. And here is the thing: usually there is no one explicitly to blame for all of the world's problems. It’s just that by moving towards more understanding, and a compassionate approach, these things can be lessened.

It’s good, however, to be really careful with dangerous people (people with dangerous parts developed–likely due to some real event)

Collective Rage

Collective rage leads to marginalization and villainization of innocent people. Think of it this way: there’s a universal mind that embodies all the collective rage. Now, let’s say that an authority, which rules the people therein, brings up a certain idea as social coercion, it can lead to innocent people marginalizing other innocent people. And this turns into chaos that people no longer know how to control and is passed on to the next generation. Since ordinary people are often tossed around by the magnetic pulls of the environmenta leader can literally say anything and people who are not yet so discerning might believe them. This is social coercion and gaslighting at its worst. This is why I highly emphasize the use of your discernment.

Studies show that meditation practiced every day consistently and correctly for a long period increases the powers of discernment.

Why Is Fault Finding Unwise?

It’s because when we find fault instead of understanding, we don’t offer a Self-fertile soil for those the flaws exist in, nor do we do this inwardly to ourselves. For how we act outwardly, we act inwardly. Finding fault in ourselves or others doesn’t allow growth. Negativity invites negativity. When we perceive others as flawed, we deny the Divine reality that’s a cause of their life–which is at its core flawless and beautiful. If we were to address those ‘flaws’ lovingly, this would expose the blind spots to be worked on, instead of suppressing the terrible, selfish flaws. Remember how even these ‘flaws’ are part of the muddy water phase? Even the mess is sacred.

Loving Correction Is Different

Critique is harsh, but correction is truthful. It is in fact through noticing our blind spots that they can be worked on. You’ll feel which one of these you are facing, if facing any. This is not anybody flaw scanning, but lovingly observing and offering tips. If these are sincere tips, and not projection, they are to be taken to heart. Being flaw scanned, on the other hand, feels more like being objectified.

False Fault Finding

The spirit of bias is strong in some. These biases can result in misinterpretations, which are kind of bugs in the mind-computers of people, like devices coded to be biased when presented with different ideas. When seen through a biased lens, one misses the flawless soul behind the body cage, which expresses many kinds of faces as a consequence of the long past.

Many people are part of groups or experiences that society has been conditioned to view with bias. I’m one of them. I’ve lived it. And I share this not to create conflict, but to bring awareness to what often goes unnoticed.

Unconventional Bias

There’s especially strong bias toward unconventional people in society. Some unconventional realms include spiritual values, traditional practices from different cultures, political views, and alternate lifestyle practices.

One profoundly biased field is gender expansiveness. Balancing feminine and masculine energies has always been a central part of my path. My body was born into a dualistic system and was assigned by this system–my real, inner sense of gender being far beyond. In fact, I’ve developed a concept called sacred androgyny–a Gnostically inspired framework on Divine gender balance. Will explore this in future. Anyhow, this has been a strong bias-inducing thing in my life. But I’m showing you–look–people like me can do things like this too.

Young People Bias

Young people aren’t stupid as many think. Younger generations bring new change and this challenges the old, sometimes causing even backlash in these systems millennials question. The hope is in the young generation. Be nice to them.

Feminine Bias

Many people often face bias due to their genderespecially the wonderful, and sometimes misunderstood woman energy. Beautiful bodies are often biased against and fetishized, but they should be adorned and seen with aesthetic appreciation, not objectification.

Women—transgender, cisgender—and all who embody feminine energy often face projection. But so do beings of a more masculine nature, and everyone who walks a path in between. One common, inherited misunderstanding is that those assumed to be men are somehow superior to those assumed to be women. But pause—how did you come to this world? The key is synergistic co-operation within and without.

This is actually an archetypal collective burden, and many people who don’t consider themselves as sexist sometimes notice this part surfacing. No shame, no judgment. There are actually many legacy burdens like this, and femininity is only one. Another one is the color of ones skin—another bias inducing condition.

Interestingly, the Ages or Yugas reflect feminine and masculine energies linearly—the dark age being more masculine (based on control, power, reasoning and structure), and the bright age being more feminine (based on intuitive feeling, flow, light). This said, I believe the future is more feminine, less intense and more sentient—but of course balanced. Because when balance is stirred, one risks being overwhelmed—too much sensation makes it hard to function. So sensualists, avoid drowning in it.

This feminine bias originates from the dark ages, when men were favored for the labor they provided, and women were treated poorly. Crude, masculine force was needed when humanity was still trying to get out of the bushes.

Could sentient beings have helped with that? Not so much. The belief then was that their role was to nurture these beasts—to soften them, civilize them.

But here in today’s world, there are already billions of people. We’ve already created life-sustaining systems—though they still mostly serve a select part of the world…

Yet the primitive beast-energy still rages in the collective.

Do you connect the dots?

There’s One Profound Saying from the Christian Mystics

Simon Peter said to them, "Let Mary leave us, for women are not worthy of life." Jesus said, "I myself shall lead her in order to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every woman who will make herself male will enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

Interpretation

This does not literally mean "turning women into men," for both biological genders are needed, at least for the thriving of the physical ecosystem, which allows souls to enter their liberating experience. However, engagement in maintaining this dynamic is not always one's svadharma, so take it seriously, but not dogmatically. Rather, it refers to transcending rigid gender roles, for the truth is: 'men' are not superior to 'women', and vice versa. This passage certainly embodies some fault findingso common to the times back then.

These ideas are products of misunderstandings that prevailed during the dark ages. Inequality and division are the main characteristics of an unawakened understanding, which dominated during the time of Jesus, and even before with the Buddha. That’s why they came.

Jesus’s intention was to shed light on this misunderstanding, to promote equality, and to reveal the illusory nature of polarizations and complications. For nothing is complicated. The power is within us. The Self is beyond gender.

Jesus is emphasizing spiritual transformation beyond gender distinctions, offering hope to those who believe their spiritual progress is negated by gender. That could never be the case.

Virtue Scanning

Lastly, I’m introducing a polarized framework in opposition to flaw scanning: virtue scanning.
This ties up to my previous writing–tending your garden of good qualities. This one is pretty simple, and doesn’t need extensive guidance. Just attune to your Innate Goodness and connect with the Innate Goodness in others. When clear, we notice these things. What we water will grow into a mighty tree of consequencesso if you want to add more goodness in yourself and others, pay more attention to it. By cultivating Self-qualities, you manifest a serene mental landscape.

This will make your life better, instead of interfering by harboring hate towards others.

- Find 5 virtues in a person you have flaw-scanned
- See them in light, prosperity and success
- For Parents: nurture your child’s strengths, and virtues. You can even write a letter for them where you include their strengths. Good parents do this.

When you don’t hide and are transparently at peace with yourself, nothing can be weaponized against you.

When you know your essence to be flawless, you won’t be bothered by villainization or attempts to undermine.

When you know that even the mess is sacred, flaws stop looking like flaws—and become invitations for growth.

We then begin to have a very different outlook on Life.

May we become gardeners of goodness, choosing to see with the eyes of the Self, and never with the lens of fear.

Salutations to the Flawless one.

In peace, search, and sincerity, Lila Zenith
