The Importance of Basics

The Importance of Basics LZ | 7.7.2025

Greetings, dear readers. I am back with another written transmission. I have been reflecting on life and being present with the basics, and also with those things which tend to try to divert us from the personal fundamentals – noticing a need to balance nuanced spiritual guidance with time and grounding, also for the sake of others. To tell you the truth, I have noticed the nuances and depth involved with what I do, or what is being done through me – however you wish to put it. I initially thought that maybe a few people within a group of traveller's on the spiritual path would read these texts, but there has been a lot more traffic, which is a good thing, of course depending little bit on the context.

It is like baking – first you need to make the dough. The base of the dough is yeast, flour and water. The dough is brought forth by the movements of the hands, then baked in the oven to form the dough into structure, of whatever form – buns, bread etc. Being a responsible baker is essential.

Let your gifts sweat in your palms, until you know who to give to.

The base of everything is certainly presence. Everything blooms from presence. Presence is important because when we are present, we don’t drift away from attunement to the presence, which any worthwhile action requires for its accomplishment. There is no time in time called the present, presence points to the silent and supportive field beneath time. And when we are attuned there we may function in time as if less conscious of it than we would be in, let’s say, an overly self-conscious state – but still keeping sound schedules.

When present, our powers of discernment, feeling and reason are correctly used to allow present witnessing – the need for starting from the basics. Whereas when not present, which is usually due to distraction, our mental forces and energies are directed to the very distraction instead where they should be, while the opposite approach could be a whole lot more fruitful for the well being of ourselves and others.

Lately, I’ve thought about this question: “What Good shall it bring”? If something brings not goodness, but sorrow, we may ask ourselves: is this worth it? And also, diverting away from what brings, or has brought us some form of goodness, is also questionable.

Starting from the basics is essential, because it is those very simple building blocks, forms, and foundations that comprise the magnificent and wondrous phenomena that we see, enjoy and greatly appreciate. We, as culturally sophisticated, intelligent persons, upon knowing the Highest Good, may approach it joyously through poetry, writing, playing music, interpersonal relationships, and various other phenomena that you could think of – even through sophisticated spiritual systems. But the truth remains: the basics work like a swiss clock, or like a train's toilet – while the complex path is often a difficult and nuanced one… It depends on the person where they find their enjoyment, purpose, and bliss. Where a soul may find their enjoyment comes down to subtlety of perception, individual design, and personal aspirations. I believe everything we do is for eventual reward, even spiritual seeking to an extent, is. But as I’ve often admitted to myself – I can’t help it – we can’t help this either. Needing a cup of water when thirsty is a kind of reward, but a part of life. All is Well. Not always do you have to 'help it', sometimes you need to witness it all.

They say that your cup is already full – how can it fit more?

If there is one rule, it is this: ‘Follow Your Bliss.’ Follow where your heart leads you – to follow the bliss is not to be caught in a whimsical whirlwind of sense-joy – but to follow one's highest aspiration as a child of the Most High Lord. For such an aspiration always leads one closer to drinking the nectar which the very good gods drink. Do not tell lies, and do not do what you hate – this is simple advice.

In Paramahansa Yogananda’s book Autobiography of a Yogi, there is a chapter called The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar where descriptions of different astral worlds, their inhabitants, capabilities, and functions are vividly described. It describes how there are actually astral worlds whose inhabitants enjoy fine-subtle vibrations in celestial spheres, just like humans may listen to music – they enjoy listening to the subtle whirlwinds of the astral plane. Just like some humans prefer rock music and some classical. It all comes down to perception, and there is no one way to perceive.

Some planes are hot as the sun, and their inhabitants persevere in extreme heat and live by it, as Yogananda has described. Then naturally, there are very cold conditions in which some creatures dwell. How is it that they survive perfectly there? Because they have adapted to those conditions.

What are the 10 meter long giant octopuses about, then… They can go down to 2000 meters deep, and are highly intelligent and often solitary, reclusive creatures that humans know almost nothing about. How may they view reality? How would they view humans? I have often reflected on this, and also that some other creatures life, for instance, must feel similarly real from the perspective of those very creatures themselves and we might not know anything about it – just like to us, all this feels very real and serious, because it kind of is. Everything is the same Life, but relatively aligned. Can there truly be superiority among representations of certain modes of consciousness? They all reflect the one with one exception: variations in access to free will. If you were to tell that a monkeys ways are wrong, they'd suffer, and get mad – they'd come with a monkey flock to get your ass. If somebody would steal an animals life, the animal and them would obviously suffer. And let alone the one perceived remark done against a human being in distress...Why? Because we are all just living our lives here as God's creatures.

And it all kind of is very serious, at least from our perspective. There is a great responsibility, but sometimes man may see themselves playing a bigger part than they actually are – it might be huge, even massive, yes – but not always the size it seems, or feels.

Very well, mammals live on the land, fish in the waters and birds in the skies. To be field congruent is to be exactly where you are as you are while remembering that where you truly come from is closer than your clothes.

From Intention Into Reality

In Vedantic philosophy, which the Samkhya-model reflects on in great detail – it is understood that all phenomena occur within a framework of a triune nature – ideational (causal), energetic (astral), and physical (matter). The ideational stage, both cosmically, and individually, would be the stage of coding – if we were to apply this narrative. The energetic stage would be the code planned and executed – then naturally, the physical stage would be that code manifested into reality. This is how everything on the internet has been built, for instance.

If you take a moment to think about computer programming, it reflects a sacred mechanic very similar to thinking – like I’ve said, everything is the same.. Almost everything humans do reflects sacred internal mechanics taking place everywhere, but just in different forms. Coding is a similar mechanic when compared to the internal manifestation process.

Field congruence, the philosophy that I’ve often mentioned, and developed, looks at phenomena as relatively existent within the range of that particular structure – on the level thereof which it exists on as a type of cluster of individuality. It excludes nothing, but understands multiplicity. Just like dreams are real when we dream, and waking is real when we don’t dream – all is relatively real at the place where we see it, and in these states we see it through some mental process, which adapts us in that current realm of understanding. Alas, I am unsure how to explain this any further – may your metaphysical mind do wonders with this. Let things fall into their places – by being calm, you can allow that.

Ultimately, a part of the pains I’ve suffered from have been self-induced due to my own thinking – yes – certainly. But then we get to questions: why may I have thought this way? What predisposed me in such a way that such thinking became
A. possible
B. necessary

These are all fair questions, and all the philosophers, mystics, shamans, and yogis – they cannot answer all the questions – but they can be silent and listen to the Song of the Divine, ever-hearable to the soul, but forever away from a selfish grasp of the pseudo-soul. So no created being, whether god or an archangel, or however high the status in Spirit may be, can fully know what drives them – they just move in telepathic attunement with their Master. Now, how important it indeed is as any lesser creature to be with the basics! Whether starting a great search or an immense feat, it is always wisest to start from the basics. Go to the meta-level with things – delve deep – even if it is a single phrase of a scripture, symbolic guidance passing as ‘insignificant signs’, or a number or a letter mysteriously popping up – pay attention. Pay attention to what things are built off and what they subtly point to.

Some persons have real and vivid encounters with spiritual beings and angelic forces, but they might not always pay attention to what these guides, entities, etc., mean, say and what these encounters are about. I can tell you that, when such experiences are real, they are very real – and can truly heal the soul which is made in the likeness of Heaven – the abode of godly goodness, and indeed, like-ness! The Source has assembled the best metaphysical surgeons to take care of the best angels whenever needed – should the will be strong. Will power is essential.

Start From the Basics

So often have I gone so fast, so far away, flying to the heights with a self-made vehicle with but simple trust in the success of the operation – sometimes working well, sometimes not so well. If it has not worked so well, this has, in a way, always awakened something in me to make it work better. If we know that a car engine does not work, even the inexperienced and unknowledgeable person usually knows how to go and open the front panel of the car. To do this, one has to conclude that if the motor does not work, there must be a problem in the basics of the motor – aka, the parts of the motor. Even a highly complex machine like a car motor is really built from the basics – small parts, twitches, knobs, bolts, and so on.

And what is metal made of? It is derived from stone material, and where does stone come from? Well, it is the basis of the earth; the whole earth is a big stone in space. There is lava in the center of the earth, but that is just melted stone because of heat and pressure – so the essence of that lava is still stone from a certain perspective. But perspectives can also change – then the essence of stone can be said to be lava. If in the center of the earth, there is liquid agni (fire) and it becomes stone in different conditions of pressure and temperature, we can conclude that fire as an element is superior to matter as an element – but it’s all the same. All the 5 elements manifest downwards from God – so it makes everything God’s consciousness. If we align this model with the framework of the 5 chakras with the tangible elements also with two additional poles, the unpacking would sound like this:

The basis of intuition is superconsciousness (ajna), the basis of vibration is space/ether (vishudha), the basis of freedom is air (anahata), and the basis of transformation is fire (manipura), the basis of feeling is water (svadhisthana), and the basis of stillness is the earth/roots (muladhara). And ultimately, the basis of transcendence is silence (sahasrara).

Where does space come from, as well as the finer dimensions of space and all the rest of it? This can get very complex, should you so desire. It comes from the basics and it is called the Spirit. From Spirit comes God and from God comes everything. It means that God is a Creator which is born from the inconceivable Spirit, which creates nothing as a contrast to God’s activity with the triune creation and all the rest of it. Bear with me – all this is very complex on some level, but very simple on some level. It all depends how you make it, and which type of hand you were dealt in a process that almost nobody truly fully understands, but is able to measure out on some level in their hearts and to understand intuitively. Well then, how important it is to come back to the basics – all the time – all the time! Alas! There is no time for unnecessary unconsciousness, and being lazy, even with the basics.

What Symbology IS

Symbology is a science that gives weight to the feeling-associations of phenomena, interpreting it through a lens of subtle, but very real understanding, instead of radical reasoning of the obvious. Symbology is the alchemy of understanding what often goes unseen. It is also connected to archetypal perception. When something or somebody is archetypal, it means that such an expression is somehow purely close to, and representing sacred, uncorrupt ideas of the Lord, as meant by Him Her in the beginning. I am not an intellectual scholar, nor am I much formally educated on a school bench, but I have always had a deep intuition, and mental strength to support it. My study has of course happened in a different kind of university, and it has been immense. It has revealed to me many great things. Symbology is the intuitive way of feeling through whatever to arrive at a conclusion of what this or that is, or is not – it is the language of the soul, free from intellectual analysis.

I approach this by sort of looking through the given phenomena with the deeper aspect of my being – it may help to lift the eyebrows inwardly mildly as if you were a bit surprised, then stare into what you’re reading with your soul, and wait for that subtle touch of the intuitive feather. This is how it feels to me. Then another “voice” is often the one that has been taught to doubt the revelation that came – it can be treated and cured – it is not true. Intuition is

Many Indian rishis (sages) who comprised the Vedas etc. were illiterate, poor, and even physically weary at times. Many saints have been chronically sick or have lived in harsh conditions, yet the Spirit has performed miracles through them. Some persons have even been imprisoned, as we all know from history – yet it has not stopped the freight train of holiness in their case. Many great writings and fruits have come from the Gardens of Imprisonment. I can tell you, absolutely nothing stops the toll of the Holy Flow when it has awakened. It is like the shark's thirst having awakened due to a little drop of blood in the ocean, but in this case, we are not talking about a shark, but a Spirit – which is indeed the Most High and operates not in the way ordinary creatures do.

This is far more precise, and it indeed is too good.

Dark Night of the Soul

I am not a theologian either, but to elaborate on another archetypal story which captures the essence of the nature of the previously described phenomena very well, there is another Saint whose name is St.John of the Cross. Before I start, I have to say that I have not gone into any deeper study about the details of this man's life, but my intuition connected the dots. He was a mystic and poet of the dark night of the soul, which is of course a very dear topic to me. You see, at this point I may say that it is a dear friend, but it was not fun back when I had my share of this experience. It seems to be a real phase, that some persons experience on their spiritual path where the immensity of the divine strike leaves them off-balance – meaning it overwhelms them, basically proving to them on every level the utter meaninglessness of their existence as a separate being. Remember: your divine individuality is not separateness. What is actually separateness might even seem like holiness. Anyways, while a trace of the old conditioning remains as a contrast to this vastness, parts of the psyche, which still obviously exist, may react with fears and hopes and so on…

First you will be shook, and then dismembered, but then you will be liberated, and it changes nothing, but reveals the original creation where you exist with the truth that Life is your Lover, and you two are actually one! But it changes nothing!

Blues, jazz, and flamenco musicians, pardon me if I don’t mention others, sometimes came from literally poor, even hellish conditions, having but the music with which to survive and express. I bet many of these people didn't always understand everything with the intellect, but the music spoke. The heart can’t be deceived, literally. Even when we don’t know all the details, we know the basics which are accessed with the heart that feels. Even if I wanted to make a certain point come across to person B who doesn’t speak my language, I would be able to make my point through gestures, body language, telepathic attunement and energy, and also with the small fragments I’d be able to communicate in a language I don’t know all about.

Feeling is the Basis

The theme that popped up across the above themes is obviously pointing us to a certain important conclusion: the intuitive feeling, surpassing all intellectual understanding, is the basis of truth in a given context – even when pointed at through a signpost of symbols. By this, I don’t mean the emotional feeling-state, but the God-feeling, a pure beginning of a long thread. Since it is usually at the tip of the thread that the beginning of the very thread is far away from at this point. Just like the basis of a plant is in the seed and the soil, and the basis of a word in letters – as well as the basis of sentences in words – the basics are always very important.

Many persons talk a lot, but do not understand what they talk, what the words in their sentences mean, and what the letters in these words mean. Were such ones to understand what they say in great detail, their efforts would be more fruitful and the need for excess descriptions would drop. Some mystics do not say much – some say nothing with words at all. There are many mystics who have gone silent, in other words, they have chosen to no longer talk. This does not have to be suppressed, sometimes we get over something for good, and if someone truly hears a call within their heart to decide to do something like this – what say have I over it? I encourage you to be with the basics.

Symbolic Understanding is Inherent Activity of the Metaphysical Mind

Whether one knows it or not, God has laid hands on everything since the very start, and in this original Creation, you exist not as flawed but whole, Child of That Presence, that is thus whole – and holy. God has also coded a certain symbolic mechanic of understanding, as it was present in the first two humans, biblically thought to be Adam and Eve – if we were to reflect through this kind of allegory. They did not have all the acquired skills of conditioning to talk and to understand as it had been previously understood and modified since they were the first ones – they saw purely, perfectly attuned to the symbolic mind of the Divine. So if symbolic understanding is that which relies not on conditioning, we can conclude that it is the way the Divine thinks. And this is not man’s making. Man (individualized divine consciousness) can help the Lord move in the desired direction which is always here and now, but the great will of Life will prosper. Why worry? No weapon formed against you shall prosper – especially, when you keep knowing and supporting your process by believing – to reach even further in the School of Knowing.

Even a "drunkard" knows the sound of truth – isn’t it in fact then, and sometimes, when people are drunk that they open up and show the truest parts of themselves? I have often witnessed this, and back when I still used to drink alcohol, it would often occur to me.

I’ve met so many truly humble persons who have gone through trials and errors, yes, but I’ve seen that they walk with the basics, and they have a good heart. There are even such ones in whose case I have not seen any flaw at all, yet they may have been widely recognized and held as flawed – even crazy or “too sensitive”.

And whenever a person is rooted in the basics, they are on the right course – even if there are some unexplainable events occurring within their orbit. It happens to us all.

Etymology of Letters, Concepts and Basics

Let’s start by defining etymology. Etymology is the study of the origin and history of words. Etymon means ‘true sense’ or ‘true meaning’ and Logia refers to ‘study of’. So etymology literally means: ‘the study of the true meaning’ (of words).

The English word "mother" comes from:

Old English "mōdor" which comes from Proto-Germanic *mōdēr
which traces to a root that also gave us "mater" in Latin and "mātṛ" (मातृ) in Sanskrit.

Etymology reveals the deep, often cross-cultural ancestry of language and helps understand the spiritual, poetic, or archetypal layers beneath common speech.

Etymology of the word “God” is also fascinating. Did you know that it was only invented quite recently? Yet never has not God been. The form we use in the west comes from the Old English word “god”, which was originally neutral in gender and used to refer to both Christian and pre-Christian deities.

The concept of God ultimately comes from a distant source which I am unable to name  – and I am not a historian – I also have to admit that I am not a scholarly etymologist.

It means “to invoke”, which then evolved into Proto-Germanic “gudan” or “got”, then into Old English "god", and finally into Modern English "God".

“Deva”, which comes from Sanskrit roots, is also closely similar to “God”.

God can be concluded, then, to be the Functional Light that emerges in the absence of darkness, or in the presence of it. But this is what we can “know” – it is way wiser to be at peace with what IS internally.

Be it anyway, God does not have a name. When “God” is being referred to here, it points out to the Highest possible current, understanding, outcome and way of being – that surpasses all ordinary modes of understanding, allowing us to become Gardeners in the Mystery – instead of antagonists in a problem-nest. And when you will feel, hear it, or see it truly, you will start to understand what it means.

Spring Thee Forth – Issue Not!

To worship is not to always know, but to surrender to what we don’t know. There is no intellectual certainty, or proof for a God that operates before and beyond man’s imagined causality, because that very proof would be limited in the realm of phantasmal understanding – it fits there not. So deal with it, lovingly... meditate – be calm in this knowing, or unknowing. Be still – All is Well. There is no reason to get upset about this – it denies not the existence of God. To say that would be like denying the existence of you. You do exist – believe me. Touch your leg, it exists. Touch the tree, that exists too. Were you to dream, then you'd dream, and that'd exist while the dream lasts.

I have also contemplated the origins of the country I live in which is Finland. Now, this isn’t scholarly etymology, but this certainly holds weight in mystic language, which the soul will understand.

Fin makes me think of finishing, and land is obviously obvious. When I once talked about these matters I was stopped by someone who claimed that this has no basis in any truth at all, that English is somehow not adequate in this. I had a different point of view. Fin relates to Finalis, which comes from Latin roots meaning ‘final’ or ‘union’. Also, the whole location of this country is profound. If we were to think that an axis pierces through the earth, the north pole being the positive counterpart of the energetically charged axis, and the south pole being the negative, as it naturally points downward, then Finland would be at the third eye of that axis.

About Letters

T is a cross. To understand the meaning of T, we must count the threads–always three. It resembles a common triune nature always present within divinity. 3 is the synthesis – Creation, the child born of the union of the 2. 3 is the moment Spirit takes shape – it is the first structure of reality. T has 3 threads and it is made of two pieces – that makes 5. Do you know what 5 means?

A is like two poles leaning upon each other with an uniting link beneath, making the common triune dynamic fulfilled. We could look at A as two poles fell into place with each other, forming an union with the horizontal line.

Also, in alchemy, an upwards pointing triangle symbolizes fire or agni, and it is thought of as symbolizing masculinity. I prefer not to get too deeply into binary thinking since there are solar and lunar essences within every creature, whether moveable, or still in nature, and thus no component of the continuum can be completely eradicated from the divine synthesis.

Be it anyhow, A alone is a powerful symbol.

O is also very simple, in my opinion. It can’t be but the full circle, full Spirit! Now, how often have you started a devotion by saying ‘O so-and-so’... ‘Give me that’…'O so-and-so'…

C is like the moon… Something is missing from the full circle, yet it is all right. The moon receives the beam from the same God from where the stars majestically standing in the protoplasm of space, receive their light and power. God's blinding Light is the essence of luminosity in all things existent. The Great Powers dwell not on solely solar-influenced bodies – it radiates unto everything and is everything, even the corrupt fire. C–>

X is like Xrist (Christ).

Yogic Analogy of Sacred Androgyny

Sacred Androgyny is the metaphysical energy-science I’ve worked with, and developed. It is also a path of basics and simplicity in the uniting path between polarities. The basis of the earth is its core and the piercing, vertical pathway, also found in human bodies as the spine. The basis of polarities within bodies, spiritually, is the Sushumna energy-pathway in the spine.

In yogic science, the Sushumna Nadi is the central energy channel that runs upwards along the spine, connecting the Muladhara (root) chakra to the Sahasrara (crown) chakra. It is the pathway for Kundalini energy, and it activates when Ida (left channel) and Pingala (right channel) are balanced and the energy starts to move upwards in spine during meditation and to the heart and both of the nadis equally during activity. Variations in balance also occur – each one is different.

The soul comes into contact with objective reality by merging its life forces into the body through the Sushumna Nadi. From there, billions of smaller nadis distill this power into various functions of the body, all serving the purpose of spiritual growth. Our entire lives are, in essence, a form of spiritual practice.

If all you can do is walk, walk soundly and make no mistake.

The soul also departs through this channel when it seeks to reunite with its Maker—or to incarnate into another realm. Whatever follows is dictated by the karma attached to the soul's energy and the will of the individual.

Ida Nadi (left, moon, parasympathetic) = Cooling, calming

Pingala Nadi (right, sun, sympathetic) = Energizing, stimulating

Sushumna Nadi (center) = Pure consciousness, enlightenment, balance

The practice of Sacred Androgyny is ultimately highly spiritual, aimed at achieving a state of unity and balance in expression. When dualities are properly harmonized, they unite into one, but rather than becoming a mere mixture of two forces, they give rise to an entirely new reality—beyond division, yet purely active—and aligned with the emanating source without overly complicated exclusions.

One of my intentions with this is to illuminate the illusion of separation and the problems that it, at its extreme, can and will cause. One such issue is debunking of the myth of male supremacy—and female supremacy. Since we are equal, the very notion of supremacy becomes irrelevant. As we see, both currents are necessary for this union. Even in the Yin-Yang symbol, the two symbolic energies work together in harmony.

For the masculine gender to go back to its basics is to remember the mother from which it came from – cosmically and personally.

For the third gender (transgender/non-binary) to remember its basics is not to become any other.

For the feminine gender to remember its basics is to remember the father who compliments it, and essentially remember the union.

And for you to go back to your basics is to honor you exactly as you are purely – your original design, your basic-build. It is not merely a name, framework – and especially not a DSM!

It's your sva-dharma.

Sacred Androgyny is an inner re-regulation, a process of awakening beyond polarizations, making possible the Pure Life to flow through us (as we are it), out of it (which is it too), and back to it. This allows us to both contain ourselves and release consciousness to the center, which operates beyond gross dualities, or divinely misaligned polarizations. There is a difference between divine polarizations, and trauma based polarizations. What appears dual is, in truth, not dual at all.

Some mystics say that one has to be established in the understanding of the ‘woman-ness’ (lunar receptivity) of all created creatures in contrast and humility to the Ultimate Supreme who created man. This is in essence, is closely related to the theme of sacred androgyny, which, when properly understood is truly an uniting science, just like a handshake, is. It is also symbolic.

The idea is to meet at the half way, to compliment yourself with what you don’t have and to attune with that with something that can compliment you in return, to make your wholeness prosper even more. But you are not adding, nor lacking – for you are whole already. If you are not established in it, it is always possible to bring yourself back – should you so desire.
